I have to say. Since I moved to Japan some years ago I find myself rarely watching a movie at the cinema. (Well not that I did in my home country either. Furthermore the cinema experience pretty much the same as in my home country being in Europe.)
However one thing I do find curious, and a bit disturbing is the way they sit all through the credits. Here's where I use the catch phrase "Only in Japan". I mean what are they waiting for, especially from a foreign movie… Hollywood movies and never Japanese dramas etc. does not feature blooper reels, behind the scenes etc. during credit roll anymore. So what are they actually doing? Thinking about the movie? No… In my experience Japanese hardly reflect over any movie they've seen. I think they are just too afraid to leave the cinema… As honor and patience is their two major rules of life.
